Casa de Noche Buena: A Homeless Shelter for Women and Families with Children

Gathering for Women – Monterey and Community Human Services partnered to open Casa de Noche Buena in Seaside, the first homeless shelter for women and families with children on the Monterey Peninsula. The shelter is currently able to accommodate 30-36 people, depending on the number and ages of children.

We welcomed our first guests in January 2021. Since opening, we have served 129 guests, including 63 single women and 20 families with 46 children. Since staying at Casa de Noche Buena, 77 guests have found either permanent or long-term transitional housing.

Services
